CABERIS Marine Engineering Calculators

Quick-access onboard reference tools for marine engineers and seafarers

This calculator landing system is provided as a free CABERIS project initiative by Noel Cabe, Marine Engineering Specialist, Creator and System Architect of caberis.com. The system designer is a long-time Chief Engineer who understands the real difficulty faced by marine engineers and seafarers at sea when quick, reliable, and practical computing aids are not available onboard. CABERIS shares these tools as a professional knowledge-support initiative for practical engineering reference, operational understanding, and safer technical decision support.

Fuel Calculation and ISO Correction

The CABERIS Operational Onboard Estimation System is designed for practical marine engineering fuel performance monitoring and operational efficiency analysis for Main Engines and Diesel Generator Engines.

The system provides quick-access onboard estimation inspired by generalized ISO 3046-1 and ISO 15550 reference concepts for monitoring Lower Calorific Value, Specific Fuel Oil Consumption, ISO corrected SFOC, and Specific Cylinder Oil Consumption where applicable.

The Main Engine panel includes LCV, actual SFOC, ISO corrected SFOC, SCOC, fuel density conversion, optional torque calculation, RPM reference, and editable correction factors for onboard operational monitoring. The Diesel Generator panel includes LCV, generator load based SFOC, ISO corrected SFOC, optional generator efficiency, fuel density conversion, and operational fuel performance monitoring.

Default operational values are automatically inserted while allowing engineers to override ISO factors, LCV references, density values, warning limits, and manual correction factors. The onboard calculator is intended for practical marine engineering estimation, fuel performance trending, daily operational checks, and quick reference support for vessel engineers.

Amber Core Electrical Calculator

Modern vessels rely on electrical systems every minute at sea. From propulsion and automation to cargo operations, navigation support, safety systems, and engine room continuity, electrical behavior has become deeply connected to daily ship operations.

AMBER CORE was developed to make essential shipboard electrical calculations easier to understand, verify, and apply. The Electrical Logic Vault presents voltage, current, resistance, motor power, torque, efficiency, and power flow through clearer operational references.

The objective is not to replace technical expertise or professional judgment. The objective is to support understanding, reduce confusion, strengthen communication, and help marine personnel approach electrical systems with greater confidence.

Bunker Tables and ASTM Reference Access

CABERIS bunker table access and calculation-table references are provided for operational engineering support only. Any ASTM-related table reference, density conversion workflow, fuel quantity estimate, or bunker calculation support must be verified against official documentation, applicable standards, bunker delivery notes, laboratory reports, vessel procedures, and company requirements.

CABERIS does not claim ownership of ASTM standards or official industry tables. Any reference is provided only as practical engineering context and must not be treated as a replacement for official standards, calibrated instruments, laboratory certificates, or approved commercial documentation.

Sewage Discharge Calculator

This CABERIS calculator is provided as a professional reference and engineering support tool only. It does not constitute operational authorization, statutory approval, flag-state approval, class society approval, or regulatory certification.

The calculator applies the formula DRmax = 0.00926 V D B. The vessel condition represented by this calculation assumes the vessel is en route, more than 12 nautical miles from nearest land where applicable, and proceeding at a speed of not less than 4 knots. D5 Maximum Summer Draft controls the upper draft boundary and the theoretical maximum discharge rate.

It does not replace vessel-approved documentation, MARPOL-related instructions, International Sewage Pollution Prevention Certificate, Administration requirements, class requirements, company SMS, onboard sewage discharge procedures, approved sewage management arrangements, or official vessel technical manuals.
